DATE LOAF

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup dates
1/4 teas salt
2 tbls butter
1 cup boiling water
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 teas bicarb soda
1 egg beaten
2 cups SR flour
METHOD:

Boil together : dates, butter, brown sugar, salt and water for 5 mins.
Cool slightly.
Add egg, flour, bicarb soda and mix well.
Place into greased tins and bake in moderate oven 180C for 45 - 60 mins.
